West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy Local Plan (Part 1)

Proposed Main Modifications to the Pre-Submission Joint Core Strategy Version, as amended by Proposed Changes (as submitted)

Following the Examination Hearings into the Joint Core Strategy (as submitted) held in April and May 2013, the independent Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State to examine the Plan requested additional work be undertaken on the Objectively Assessed Housing Needs and the Sustainability Appraisal.  He also requested consideration be given to extending the Plan period from 2026 to 2029 or 2031.

The West Northamptonshire Joint Strategic Planning Committee on the 16th December 2013 approved the Proposed Main Modifications to the Pre-Submission version of the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy as amended by Proposed Changes (as submitted) for a period of representations between 14th January 2014 and 25th February 2014.

The Proposed Main Modifications are presented in 4 parts as follows:

Part 1 – The Proposed Main Modifications – These include changes to the policy text and other parts of the Joint Core Strategy which materially affect the strategy and relate to the soundness of the plan; 

Part 2 - The Sustainability Appraisal Addendum Report - This represents the additional work requested by the Inspector, and also covers the extened plan period and all the Proposed Main Modifications;

Part 3 - The Habitats Regulations Assessment Addendum Report - This fulfills the EAPP regulations; and 

Part 4 – Objectively Assessed Housing and Jobs Needs – This represents the work undertaken following the request by the Inspector that the housing and jobs assessment be re-visited, and consideration be given to extending the plan period from 2026 to 2029 or 2031.
